Caffeine Withdrawal

Are you addicted to caffeine? Even though you may think that the answer is no, the fact of the matter is that you could be in a bad position. When it comes down to it, there are millions of people who need caffeine in order to get through the day. And if they attempt to stop this habit, they will run into what is known as caffeine withdrawal. Although it is not fun to go through withdrawal, it is something that you may have to deal with if you are already addicted to caffeine.

Generally speaking, there are several common symptoms of caffeine withdrawal. If you attempt to cut yourself off cold turkey, you are sure to run into some or all of these symptoms. They include: difficulty concentrating, extreme fatigue and drowsiness, vomiting, muscle pain, mood swings, and most commonly, killer headaches. More than half of the people who go through caffeine withdrawal are hit with excruciating headaches.

Becoming addicted to caffeine is an easy thing to do. This happens when you become forced to depend on this substance in order to get through the day. How many times have you heard somebody say, “I have to get my coffee so that I can wake up in the morning?”

If you are tired of relying on coffee, or any type of caffeine for that matter, you need to look into quitting. The best way to deal with a coffee addiction withdrawal is to slowly back off. In other words, do not go from drinking five cups of coffee a day to none. Instead, cut back gradually so that you do not shock your system.

Caffeine withdrawal symptoms are more intense in some than others. If you are addicted to caffeine, you need to be aware of the symptoms of withdrawal and then deal with them in the appropriate manner.
